Kulasai Dussehra
Kulasai Dussehra, celebrated at the sacred Sri Mutharamman Temple in Kulasekarapattinam, Tamil Nadu, is one of South India’s most vibrant and unique festivals. Held during Navaratri, the celebration brings together thousands of devotees who come dressed as gods, goddesses, and mythological characters as an expression of devotion. The festival reaches its grand finale on Vijayadashami, when the divine battle between Goddess Mutharamman and the demon Mahishasura is re-enacted. With colourful costumes, powerful traditions, music, and deep spiritual energy, Kulasai Dussehra is a spectacular celebration of faith and the triumph of good over evil.
